Zee Telugu is a Telugu-language general entertainment channel (GEC) in India. It was launched as Alpha TV Telugu on 20 September 2004[1], in line with Zee’s other regional-language channels (i.e., Alpha TV Marathi, Bangla, Gujarati and Punjabi, of which the last two are defunct), and renamed to Zee Telugu in 2005.

Zee Telugu has three main competitors: Star Maa, Gemini TV and ETV. It was the last of the four to launch an HD feed, which it did on New Year’s Eve 2017.

The gap in the top right corner of the ‘Z’ was closed and the swoosh within it was modified. This was also done by all other Zee channels and properties. This logo was used from 1 January until 15 October, 2017.

The light blue logo colour was temporarily retained for over two months, thereby making this a short-lived logo. This logo was only used from 15 October until 31 December, 2017.

The logo colour and channel graphics are now the same as those of Zee TV and Zee Tamil. Later, in November 2018, they were also introduced by Zee Kannada and the newly-launched Zee Keralam.

Zee Telugu HD was launched on 31 December 2017 along with Zee Cinemalu HD to coincide with the rebranding and logo change. When Zee Kannada launched its HD feed on 3 November 2018, it rebranded in a similar fashion, also introducing an orange logo and graphics package.
