Zee Tamil is a Tamil general entertainment channel (GEC) in India. Since its launch on 12 October 2008, it has quickly become one of the most popular Tamil TV channels, alongside Sun TV and Star Vijay, surpassing older channels like Jaya TV and Raj TV. An HD feed was launched on 15 October 2017 during the rebrand of the Zee network with a new logo scheme.

A sister channel, Zee Thirai, was launched on 19 January 2020 that shows Tamil movies.

A light blue logo was introduced during a broadcaster-wide rebrand of the Zee network on 19 June 2011. Zee Telugu and Zee Kannada had similar light blue logos.

2015–2016[]

The logo and channel graphics were heavily borrowed from Zee Marathi.

2017[]

On 1 January 2017, the gap in the top right corner of the Z was closed and the swoosh within it was modified. This was also done by all other Zee channels and properties.

Zee Tamil introduced a new orange logo during a second broadcaster-wide rebrand of the Zee network on 15 October 2017, as well as the new orange ripple graphics of the parent Zee TV, which were subsequently adopted by Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada and Zee Keralam, as well as Zee Bangla (in red instead of orange). The logo bug was moved from the traditional top right corner to the top left. On the same day, it launched an HD feed.
