On May 21, 2013, Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One, and it was released on November 22 of that year. The original Xbox One model was discontinued in 2017, but it continued to be used as the series logo until its discontinuation in 2020.

At E3 2016, Microsoft announced two new Xbox One consoles, a slimmer version named Xbox One S and another more powerful version under the codename Project Scorpio (now known as Xbox One X).
