On April 20, 2016, after 10 years, Microsoft decided to stop the production of the Xbox 360. The reason for the discontinuation was because Microsoft believed that making a console over 10 years old was starting to "creep up on them". However, Xbox 360 consoles are still being sold in stores and online until none of them are left.
