XL Axiata originally called GSM-XL which launched on October 8, 1996.
This logo is used as a corporate logo when the company was named Excelcomindo Pratama from 1996 until 2004.
Pro XL was launched in 1998, the prepaid and postpaid version of GSM-XL.
On June 25, 2004, Pro XL was renamed simply XL.
After acquisition by Telekom Malaysia in 2005, the logo was italized on September 21, 2006 with the launch of its 3G broadband services. But it was still used as a secondary logo since the new logo was unveiled in October 2014.
After Telekom Malaysia renamed Axiata Group in 2009, the Axiata logo has applied into the XL logo on June 1, 2009. In November 2009, Excelcomindo Pratama was renamed XL Axiata. But it was still used as a secondary logo since the new logo was unveiled in October 2014.
On October 28, 2014, XL Axiata unveiled the new logo with the launch of Real Mobile 4G LTE network service. The logo is now the yellow 'X' with the green 'L' flipping over it and usually the blue background is also used.
On October 5, 2016, to commemorate XL Axiata's 20th anniversary, XL Axiata changed its logo color from yellow and green to blue and green, similar to the former Pro XL logo color.
