Wollongong City

Wollongong City was formed in 1980, and joined the National Soccer League in the 1981 season.

The club assumed the name 'Wollongong Wolves' in 1996. They won the NSL in 2000 and 2001, but after the NSL folded in 2004, the Wolves moved to the NSW Premier League.

On November 22, 2009, it was announced that the 'Wolves' name would return for the 2010 season.[1]

South Coast Wolves

In July 2015, it was announced that in recognition of the club's 35th anniversary, a new logo would be introduced and the 'Wollongong Wolves' title would return.

The new badge includes four stars: two each in gold and silver. The gold stars represent the dual NSL championships in 2000 and 2001, while the silver stars commemorate state-level titles in 1988 and 2008.
