In 2007, the British version of the show became more of a daytime version and the theme tune was remixed to a new dance-beat tune. The Russian version followed suit, and changed its "Кто Xочет Cтать Миллионером" to be the same as the British tune.

Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Sony did not renew the Russian version's contract at the end of that series. In 2023, it was announced that an unlicensed reboot of the show, with a different host and slightly different format, would be commissioned. The show returned on April 29, 2023 in a new format and with the participation of Julianna Karaulova.
