This logo was used throughout the Eighties, maybe it was introduced even earlier.
1994-2012
On June 6, 1994, WDR launched a new logo which is sometimes known as the wincle-logo. It consists of a blue rectangle which has cut a small piece of rectangle out and the "WDR" wordmark appears to the left at the center of the rectangle.
By July 1, 1994, West 3 was rebranded as WDR Fernsehen.
2012-present
In April 2012, WDR announced a corporate pre-design which will be applied step by step to fully replace the previous design by 2014.
The new logo was launched on April 19, 2012.
