In 1995, WTVX became West Palm Beach's UPN affiliate. Straightline Communications acquired the station in 1997, separating it from WPBF (which got sold to Hearst-Argyle Television). Viacom's Paramount Stations Group (now CBS Television Stations) would operate the station under a local marketing agreement. In 2001, Viacom acquired WTVX outright.
In 1999, the WTVX began using the "34" logo it would use up to 2006.
In 2002, coinciding with the rebranding of UPN, the station's brand name was changed to "TVX 34".
In 2005, WTVX changed its name back to "UPN 34" and began using UPN's 2002 circle logo.
