This was the first logo, which was seen on the movie posters for the original 1989 theatrical release and the original 1990 VHS release. It is still seen in the opening credits, especially in subsequent releases of the film.

1997

The Little Mermaid logo

In 1997, starting with the 1997 theatrical re-release the logo has been updated for the first time and has since been the main logo for future releases of Little Mermaid media and merchandising.
