The overriding threefold motif of Texaco logos has emphasized the colour red, the shape of a five-pointed star, and the letter T.
In 1981, the Texaco trademark changed to a white star with a red capital "T" inside a red circle. It is a modified version of the 1963 logo.
As of 1999, the "TEXACO" typeface was dropped and only the 1981 symbol remains. On February 8, 2002, Texaco merged with Chevron.
