On April 1, 2002, a teen-oriented programming block debuted on Noggin titled The N.
On October 5, 2007, the hand was omitted and was replaced with two atoms, each one saying "the" and "N". The word "the" was made lowercase and both the "the" and "n" words changed font.
On December 31, 2007, The N became its own 24-hour cable channel, replacing Nickelodeon Games and Sports.
On September 28, 2009, The N was rebranded as TeenNick, taking its name from a former weekend programing block that aired on Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2009.
The "teen" in the wordmark had its color changed from silver to magenta in 2016.
