TVR 1 is the flagship television channel of Televiziunea Română. The channel was launched on December 31, 1956, it is the first Romanian television channel, and until 1968, it was the only television channel in Romania.

On May 2, 1968, following the launch of Programul 2, TVR became Programul 1.

November 3, 2019
On February 2, 2019, a new logo was introduced. However, this was short-lived, as it was replaced with the 2008 logo (seen above) near afternoon.
On November 3, 2019, after the launch of its HD simulcast, TVR 1 reused its short-lived logo that it was used on February 2, 2019. There is no difference with the 2008 logo, except the 1 digit is larger.

On November 15, 2022, TVR 1, along with all the other TVR channels, had made their logos flat with the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. However, prior to December 5, 2022, these logos were only seen on air and in promos.
