Subway 2002

In December 2001, Subway started using a modified version of its logo since 1969, but the oval behind the wordmark was removed in this logo. The restaurant was re-opened in January 4, 2002 with a new design and new ingredients for a submarine sandwich. The slogan used with this logo was "Eat Fresh."

Subway 2016

To coincide with the opening ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic games, on August 5, 2016, Subway unveiled the new design — the first time that the sandwich chain has significantly changed the major element of its identity since 2001. While the old logo utilized a bold, thick font, the new logo is more minimalist. The signature arrows on the "S" and "Y," however, will remain. The logo was adopted internationally in July 2017.
