Sony BBC Earth is a factual infotainment channel and Sony Pictures Networks India’s second joint venture with an international broadcaster, the first being Sony ESPN. It was launched on 6 March 2017 in both SD and HD feeds, the same day as the HD version of Star Gold Select.
Sony BBC Earth’s main competitors are National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild from Star, Discovery and Animal Planet from Discovery and History TV18 from AETN18.
