The 2002 Winter Olympics (officially the XIX Winter Olympics) and the 2002 Winter Paralympics (officially the VIII Paralympic Winter Games) both commonly referred to as Salt Lake 2002 were two international multi-sport events that took place from 8-24 February 2002 and 7-16 March 2002 respectively in Salt Lake City, United States.

The emblem logo was introduced during August of 1997 and was designed by Ben Hermel of Landor Associates and EvansGroup. It featured a snowflake that featured three sections: the amber, sunset and mountain shadow.
