Prima's history dates back to 1992 when it was originally founded as FTV Premiéra. It was founded on 26 November 1992 when it received its first private broadcasting license, and upon its foundation, the station begun test broadcasting.
A year later on 20 April 1993, its channel was originally and officially launched with its first logo of the "FTV" wordmark that contains the "T" and "V" getting merged to be beside of three lines coloured red, blue, and green. This logo is short-lived.
In 1994, TV Nova interrupted the monopoly of the station, which was rebranded as Premiéra TV and relaunched with a new look which has a new logo in favour of a blue sphere in the middle of two curves coloured green and red.
