Pizza Hut 1998

In 1998, several Pizza Hut trademarks were registered that contained an odd prototype of the 1999 logo. The most notable changes between this logo and the final variant are the "P" and the hat, which are notably designed much differently.

In 2008, two trademarks for a Pizza Hut logo were discovered under the name "The Hut". The only difference that was spotted in the prototypes compared to the final logo was the absent underline.

This logo was eventually used in 2010 at a series of prototype locations in Peoria and Peoria Heights in Illinois and Stowe in Pennsylvania. This was used during a proposed reformatting which explored the concept of the restaurant chain changing to being exclusively a carry-out chain. This logo was eventually removed from the Illinois locations, with their branding replaced by the next logo shortly after, though it remains in use in the Pennsylvania location.
