At the time of the company's aquisition of Quaker Oats in August 2001, PepsiCo changed their logo for the first time. The new logo was created by Landor Associates. It keeps the globe motif, but makes it less schematic and more lively. It also loses its connection to the Pepsi identity. Instead, five latitudes in differents colors represents the company's divisions: Frito-Lay, Pepsi, Tropicana, Quaker and Gatorade.
