Intel began production of the Pentium III processor in 1999; however, the Pentium 4 processor was released just a year later. It is an enhanced and faster version of Pentium II.
In 2000, Intel stopped producing/shipping the Pentium III processor and was replaced by the Intel Pentium 4 processor. And in 2003, Intel released a new mobile processor called Pentium M. Which is part of the Centrino platform.
