Until 2006, the MSNBC.com logo was in sync with that of its television counterpart.
The MSNBC news channel did not adopt this logo until 2009.
MSNBC.com was rebranded as NBCNews.com on July 14, 2012, when NBCUniversal bought Microsoft's 50% share in the site. The TV channel, a distinct entity, is still called MSNBC. In 2013, MSNBC.com relaunched as the network's website.
