Mountain Dew was launched in 1948, having been originally created in 1940 by Tennessee beverage bottlers Moses and Ally Hartman. This logo is now used on Mountain Dew Throwback as of 2009.

Mountain Dew logo

In 2009, Mountain Dew was re-launched with the abbreviated name Mtn Dew in the United States. In Canada and some other countries, the full name continues in use with an appropriately matching logo.

The logo was slightly modified in 2016. Debuting in Europe and Asia; it was later introduced to the US and Canada in 2017.
