Malaysia Airlines

Malaysia Airline System changed their name to Malaysia Airlines in October 1987. They retained the Kelantan kite from the previous logo, but gave it a visible slant to 'express grace in motion but also thrust and dynamism'. The letters M, A and S in the word 'Malaysia' were highlighted with red triangles at the bottom right corner to emphasise the name MAS, which is how the airline is referred to as popularly, and also its roots in its predecessor, Malaysian Airline System.

Malaysia Airlines logo 2012

Malaysia Airlines revised its logo in 2012 to coincide with the introduction of the Airbus A380 into its fleet. The Kelantan kite now faced to the right, and it was coloured blue with a gradient. The words 'Malaysia' and 'Airlines' were now written in a similar font as that found in Singapore Airlines' logo. The A380s were—and still are—painted with a special livery featuring only the colour blue, with no red. Since 2012, the airline's corporate typeface has been Gotham.

Malaysia Airlines 2013

The red-and-blue Kelantan kite returned in 2013 to mark the airline's entry into the Oneworld airline alliance.
