Maestro was introduced in October 1991 as the second sub-brand owned by Mastercard, with its first transaction occurring in August 1992. This logo, and all others to follow, is a variation of MasterCard's 1990 logo design with a different color scheme.

In September 1996, the logo was updated to fit in line with MasterCard's recent rebrand made at the same time.

2016–present[]

Launched:  July 14, 2016

On July 14, 2016, Maestro adopted Mastercard's recently rebranded logo design; the blue and red circles switched places and the violet-colored center shape was added. On July 1, 2023, Mastercard phased out Maestro across Europe.
