The logo is a colourful interpretation of the Madrid monument Puerta de Alcalá with a handwritten 'm20'.[1] It was chosen as part of a national contest, to which 22-year-old graphic design artist Luis Peiret won, and was awarded €6000 for. That original logo was modified heavily by design firm TAPSA. Luis said of the new logo, “This is not my logo,”.[2] Even so, he stated he liked the modifications regardless.
