MTVNHD was launched on September 15, 2008 as MTV Networks' first high-definition channel for Europe and Latin America.[1][2]

"MTVN" is a commonly used abbrevation for MTV Networks, and some articles reported that the name stood for "MTV Networks HD" at the launch. The N could also mean "Nickelodeon", as the channel carried a block of cartoon from Nickelodeon on weekends from it launch, and the Nickelodeon logo was included in MTVNHD's logo.

2010

When the new Nickelodeon logo was introduced to International markets in the spring of 2010, the logo for MTVNHD was changed accordingly.

2010–2011

On September 28, 2010, a new logo for MTVNHD was revealed. It is launched onto screens on October 5, 2010 in preparation of the launch of the Nickelodeon HD services.

MTV Live HD

2011–present

On 1 July 2011, MTVNHD was rebranded as MTV Live HD.
