During this time two "S.S. KRESGE CO." logos were used. Placed in respective order.

In 1962, The S.S. Kresge Company opened its first Kmart stores. The last of the SS Kresge stores were sold off in 1990.
This logo was introduced in September 1990. It is still seen at many older Kmart stores.
This logo is only used at five prototype locations. Four in the Peoria, IL area (Peoria, Pekin, Morton and (now closed) Washington) as well as White Lake, MI. The name of the city would be displayed alongside or under this logo. The colors where changed as well using grey and lime colors.
In 2004, Kmart acquired Sears to become Sears Holding Corporation and created a new logo, and most of the Big and Super Kmart stores were rebranded as simply 'Kmart' while keeping their features. Two alternate versions of this logo exist, one used on many locations removes the lowercase K (often replacing it with the larger K at the top) and another removes the large K at the top, however this was only used at three locations, the first being in Redlands, California.
