1996 - 2004
The first company to operate the 'Intercity Great Eastern' franchise was Anglia Railways. In 2004, the 'InterCity Great Eastern' franchise merged with the Great Eastern franchise and the West Anglia half of the West Anglia Great Northern franchise to become the Greater Anglia franchise.
