Google is an internet search engine.
Main Logo
1997–1998
This logo was used during the developing stage at Stanford University.
1998
This logo was used only for a month. Back then, the "G" was green.
1998–2000
The "G" is now blue, the logo seems smaller, the shadow is repositioned, and an exclamation point (!) was added, possibly to mimick the Yahoo! logo.
2000–Present
This is arguably the most familiar and popular logo among the Internet. The fontface is Catull BQ and the exclamation point was removed. On very old/outdated browsers (such as IE5 and older), this logo is still used instead of the newer one below.
2010–Present
This logo is just like the previous logo, except for the colours are brighter and the shadows have been reduced. The previous logo is still used as a secondary logo.
White Logo
The white versions of the Google logo are used during times of great tragedy. These include the Polish aircraft disaster which killed President Lech Kaczyński, the Qinghai earthquake and the Gansu mudslide of China. It is also used when there is a background.
2010
This logo only lasted a month as Google received a new logo the following month.
2010–Present
The white logo was updated in tadem with the main logo.

Trivia
- The word 'Google' is based on the word 'googol' which is a large number with one hundred zeros, implying the amount of search results.
- When searching, sometimes the word is extended, so it says "Gooooooooooooogle" or so on.
