“The leaf conveys the notion of growth as it relates to the nature of the company's business - food - and to the corporation itself.”
Saul Bass, as quoted in the New York Times (November 9, 1984)[1]

On November 7, 1984, General Foods executives unveiled a new logo at a worldwide management conference in Rye Brook, NY, created by Saul Bass and G. Dean Smith. In 1995, General Foods was removed from Kraft’s corporate name. Currently, most of its brands are owned by its successors, The Kraft Heinz Company and Mondelēz International.
