1984–2007[]
Macrovision, an American manufacturer of copy protection products, was founded in 1983. Its logo debuted in print in 1984 and in video in 1990. Some companies who used Macrovision copy protection include United Learning, Disney Educational Productions and CBS/Fox Children's Video. It was also used for Universal Studios DVDs until Deluxe Digital Studios took over in late 2000s.
The company were the trademark owners and licensors of the Copy Protection (CP) logo.
2001–2009[]
A new logo for Macrovision was introduced in early 2001. This was used in tandem with the previous one until 2007, when film distributors stopped releasing films onto VHS.
Rovi Corporation[]
2009–2016[]
On July 16, 2009, Macrovision announced its name change to Rovi Corporation.
TiVo Corporation[]
2016–2020[]
On June 1st 2020, TiVo Corporation merged with Xperi, leading TiVo to be just a brand of Xperi.
