Despite the ratings being changed in August 1997, KTSF 26/San Francisco continued the parental guidelines on-air until late 2013.

This is one of the first rating icons to have sub-ratings with the TV-PG rating icon, TV-14 rating icon, and with the TV-MA rating icon. "FV" is the only sub-rating that is used on the TV-Y7 rating icon. Other variants with these icons were made by other television networks to use them on screen.
