Rede Globo's famous Plim Plim sound debuted in 1971, and is traditionally used to mark the beginning of commercial breaks. Initially done as a pair of simple audio beeps, beginning in 1977, the sound was redone to its current form, resembling the sound of a telephone ring tone.

Regular Plim Plim Idents[]

This set of IDs debuted in 1971 and originally ended in 1995. However, they were reused since 2007.

Starting in 2015, the Plim Plim idents became the main idents used on-screen.

Animated Plim Plim Idents[]

These animated idents replaced the regular Plim Plim idents since 1995. However, they were scrapped in 2007.

1995-2000[]

The first set of animated Plim Plim idents was launched in 1995 and was discarded in 2000.

2000-2005[]

The second set debuted in 2000, coinciding with the channel's 35th anniversary and the introduction of the then-new Globo Glass graphics package. It was discarded in 2005.

2005-2007[]

The third and final set of animated Plim Plim idents was introduced in 2005, again coinciding with TV Globo's 40th anniversary and the introduction of a new logo and graphics package. It was discarded in 2007, as TV Globo began experimental broadcasts in HDTV, and also introduced a new main ident.
