La Cáscara (formerly known as La Pepa TV) is a Panamanian comedy sketch show. It currently airs every Saturday at 8:00 pm (initially at 7:00 pm) on TVN. The show is known for its famous segments and interviews.
La Pepa TV[]
1995-1996[]
The show premiered on January 14, 1995, and was based on a radio program called La Pepa Del Rock, which started airing in 1994.
La Cáscara[]
1996-1997[]
The show was relaunched as La Cáscara after the show's executives renamed the programme (due to the word pepa carrying a vulgar connotation) and it premiered on July 13, 1996.
The logo consisted of a yellow banana peel shaped like the letter C.
1998-2006[]
In 1998, La Cáscara redesigned its logo in conjunction with the launch of the show's third season; this lasted until its redesign in 2007 upon the launch of the show's twelfth season.
The logo was used as a sticker during the 2000s, and also making a surprise appearance during the carnivals of 2008, 2013 and 2014. The logo also appeared as a building sign until its replacement with the current logo in 2013.
2005-2006 (prototype)[]
An early version of the then-current logo appeared on the show's intermissions from 2005 to 2006 for the "10 years" variant.
2007-2011, (primary) 2012-present (secondary)[]
After a decade, the logo was rebranded, with the banana peel now tilted and shaded; it is reported to be still in use (even on-screen).
2012-present[]
The slightly modified version of the current logo does not actually appear on-screen, but can be seen on social networks and on stickers; it is also used in tandem with the 2007 logo as well.
