1957–1962[]

The station signed on December 21, 1957, taking the ABC affiliation away from KFDA-TV (channel 10). The station was originally owned by Southwest States. On June 21, 1958, Southwest States announced that it would sell channel 7 to Television Properties. The sale was approved by the FCC on July 16 of that same year but the deal later fell through.

On August 1, 1963, Southwest States announced that it would sell channel 7 to the Walton Group. The sale was completed on November 12 of that same year.

1967–1968[]

Walton added the "-TV" suffix to channel 7 during 1967. On October of that same year, the Walton Group sold channel 7 to Marsh Media. The sale was completed on January 31 of that same year.

After Marsh Media purchased the station, channel 7 began adapting the G. Dean Smith-designed Circle 7 originally made for ABC's six original owned-and-operated television stations.

On August 26, 2002, Marsh Media announced that it would sell KVII to New Vision Group. On April 7, 2005, New Vision sold the station to Barrington Broadcasting Group.

2006–2013[]

On February 28, 2013, the Sinclair Broadcast Group announced the acquisition of Barrington's television stations, including KVII. The sale was completed on November 25 of that same year.

2013–2015[]

In 2013, the ABC logo was incorporated into the circle 7.

2015–present[]

KVII Circle 7

In 2015, the station began adapting a more thicker version of the circle 7 mainly to distinguish it from its sister stations WJLA-TV in Washington, DC and KATV in Little Rock/Pine Bluff. The ABC logo was also placed to the left.
