The city of Hamburg retracted their bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics in November 2015, as the bid was met with unpopularity from the city's citizens. Hamburg-based firm Mutabor however produced a bid identity that would have been implemented and decided to release it in January 2016 as a case study.
The logo represents the Olympic Rings reflected in a circular pond of water represented by the blue ripples. This corresponds with the bid motto "Reflecting the spirit of the Games".
