Smokey and the Bandit is a 1977 American comedy film based on a beer-smuggling run from Texas to Georgia in 2 days. The film grossed enough to become the second highest-grossing domestic film of 1977 ($300m against a $3.4m budget), with Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith in first place.
