On October 24, 1942, the background adapted from Merrie Melodies which began using in 1936, but just the opening at the time. Starting with "The Daffy Duckaroo" short, this background became permanent icon of all Looney Tunes cartoons, and later the closing was adapted on June 8, 1946 with the short "Kitty Kornered". Both Warner Bros. cartoon series ended in 1964 on the first run, the last short was "False Hare" launched on July 18.
