Following its acquisition by Merlin Entertainments in 2007, Alton Towers changed its name to Alton Towers Resort to better reflect its status as a multi-day destination. Most other Merlin-owned theme parks with onsite accommodation would follow suit over the following few years.

Animated Version
In time for the resort's 40th anniversary, the logo was updated to look more modern and more accurate to the actual Towers Estate building.

In 2021 the 40th anniversary logo was refined slightly to remove the red '40 Years' flag, and refitted with a smaller 'Resort' banner like the 2008 logo.
