Following the departure of FEU, UP, and UST, the NCAA was left with Ateneo, De La Salle, Mapúa, JRU, Letran, and San Beda. This was the logo until Trinity joined in 1974.

The eight circles are the logos of the eight member schools (clockwise from top: Letran, St. Benilde, JRU, Mapúa, PCU (former member school, currently in NAASCU), San Beda, San Sebastian, Perpetual). The "NCAA" logo is the same as that used by the American NCAA. The logo used from 1999 to 2004
