You Don't Know What You're Doin'! (1931, Redrawn Colorized version)
On January 11, 1936, the famous "rings" as a hole appeared for the first time in "I Wanna Play House" short. From that short onwards, this background became permanent icon of all Merrie Melodies cartoons, and later in 1942 Looney Tunes adapted this background. Both Warner Bros. cartoon series ended in 1964 on the first run, in Merry Melodies' case, "Hawaiian Aye Aye" launched on June 27.
Following the 1936 background until 1964 on the first run, the logo was modified from the 1933 logo moving the word "Melodies" to the right slightly, starting with "Little Red Walking Hood" on November 6, 1937. Fast forward on January 16, 1954 with the "Captain Hareblower" short, the "hole" shrank to adopt the Looney Tunes background version.
