This alternate logo started appearing in 15-second commercials for the CBS Pittsburgh weather app in 2014. Although "KDKA-TV" is still shown in the logo, it appears to be minimized for FCC station identification purposes while more emphasis is placed on "CBS 2". It hasn't been seen on any other media yet, but it possibly meant that KDKA-TV was coming up with the idea of finally going into full compliance with the so-called "CBS Mandate" and rebranding itself as "CBS 2".
