Emirates Airline (Arabic: al-Imarat), commonly known as Emirates, is the national airline of the emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, and the largest airline in the Middle East. It operates a global network from its hub at Dubai International Airport to all six inhabited continents. It is the flagship property of The Emirates Group and cooperates closely with the low-cost carrier flydubai, which is also owned by the Dubai government.

Emirates launched in 1985. Its original livery and identity was created by British firm Negus & Negus. The logo consists of Emirates written in both Arabic calligraphy and English. The livery consisted of a white fuselage along with the Emirati flag across the tail of the aircraft.

1999–present[]

In November 1999, Emirates introduced a refreshed logo and bespoke corporate typeface. The 1985 livery was largely unchanged, with the Emirati flag on the tail of the aircraft.
