Crossrail is a future cross London railway line connecting Maidenhead and Heathrow Terminal 4 with Shenfield and Abbey Wood via a tunnel beneath central London.

On 23 February 2016, Crossrail was renamed to the Elizabeth Line, in honour of Elizabeth II, the announcement was made by London Mayor Boris Johnson as the Queen visited the under-construction Bond Street station.[1]
