This logo first debuted with and was used on the trailers for Antz (1998). DreamWorks Animation SKG did not use an on-screen logo until 2004. Prior to that year the Dreamworks Pictures logo was used in its place.

Although DreamWorks is an overall independent studio, it didn't always release its titles on its own. It once had a distribution deal with formerly Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox and currently Universal Pictures, but during theatrical releases only, as DreamWorks fully owns those titles on video.
