On October 13, 2010, a new "global brand identity" for Doubletree. To show its affiliation with its owner "by Hilton" was added to the logo and name, which now is DoubleTree by Hilton. "By Hilton" had previously been part of the name for hotels outside the United States. The logo also included a new and more sophisticated symbol consisting of two trees and a capital D. The new identity rolled out during the first half of 2011.
