This logo began use after Dot Records was sold to Paramount Pictures.
In 1974, ABC purchased the Famous Music Group and by extension Dot, Blue Thumb Records and Paramount Records, and in 1978 it was absorbed into ABC Records. The next year, ABC Records was sold to MCA Records.
The label was briefly revived in 1985 by MCA Nashville, using the 1968 logo but without the Paramount section of it.
In 2014, Big Machine Records revived Dot Records, and it now uses a revamped version of the 1950 logo.
