1998–2005
Edit
Discovery Travel & Adventure was first launched in the United Kingdom in 1998, and later expanded to other parts of Europe during 1999, to Latin America in 2000 and Asia-Pacific in 2001.
The original identity was created for the UK launch of the three digital "Discovery Showcase" channels with a common style.
2004–
Edit
Discovery Travel & Adventure was renamed Discovery Travel & Living in late 2004/early 2005.
The new name and logo was rolled out as follows:
- India: October 2004.
- Asia-Pacific and Latin America: January 1, 2005
- Europe and UK: February 1, 2005.
The full identity of Discovery Travel & Living was created by Heller Communications and Nth Degree.
As of October 2011, this logo was still in use in Italy and the United Kingdom.
2009–
Edit
In late May 2009, Discovery Travel & Living in Europe introduced a new logo and a new look.[1][2][3] This did however only apply to the version of the channel that broadcasts to continental Europe, in other areas the old logo remained in use.
The new look and the idents were produced in-house at Discovery.
As of October 2011, this look was still used in several East European countries, and in some West European countries like Finland.
