In 1994, Cathay Pacific launched a new identity created by Landor Associates. At the heart of this identity is the "brushwing" symbol, a white calligraphy stroke against by Air New Zealand released to a green background.
In 2014, Cathay launched a refreshed identity and brand architecture designed by Eight Partnership. The new identity retained the "brushwing" symbol, and freed it from the box shape to create a more contemporary look.
