2003–2007[]

Coolfm 991

In August 2002, Canwest received CRTC approval to launch a smooth jazz station, and on February 28, 2003 the station launched as 99.1 Cool FM, branded after co-owned Cable TV station CoolTV.

CJGV-FM[]

2007–2012[]

Groove fm 991

Following the acquisition of the station by Corus Entertainment in 2007, the station re-branded as Groove 99.1 FM.

2012–2012[]

After stunting with Christmas music during the 2011 holiday season, on January 1, 2012 the station re-branded temporarily as 99.1 FM.

2012–2015[]

991 fresh fm

On February 14, 2012 the station dropped the 99.1 FM brand, and adopted Corus' Fresh FM brand.

2015–2016[]

On February 13, 2015 the station revised their branding as 99.1 Fresh Radio.

2016–2017[]

Cfpg peggy991 2016

On December 25, 2016 Christmas Day, concluding its run of Christmas music, the station re-launched as Peggy @ 99.1 with an adult contemporary format.

CFPG-FM[]

2017–2021[]

In March 2017, the call letters were updated as CFPG-FM to better reflect the new brand. The station also changed the slogan to 80s and Today.

2021–2023[]

In 2021, the station again changed their slogan to Winnipeg's Favourites and adopted a glossy look to their brand.

2023–present[]

CFPG-FM 99.1 Country 99

On December 27, 2023 following the conclusion of their Christmas music programming, the station rebranded as Country 99 with a country music format.
